The Harvard Repository Selection Flowchart is intended to assist Harvard University researchers in identifying an appropriate repository for data generated during a project, focusing on the three generalist repositories supported by the University.

As funders and publishers, in addition to the research community, refer to data repositories as the preferred method for supporting FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data sharing, institutions are increasing support services for these platforms. While this resource is geared towards NIH-funded researchers, it can be used by a variety of researchers (including students) looking to share the outputs of their grants or university activities.

In addition to providing guidance for domain or disciplinary repositories, Harvard Library supports three generalist data repositories for Harvard researchers: Harvard Dataverse, Open Science Framework, and Vivli. We worked with each vendor to develop the flowchart and example use cases. Additional information about all NIH GREI repositories, including additional use cases can be found in the [Zenodo community](https://zenodo.org/communities/grei).

The complete guide includes: a flowchart diagram, guidance documentation, use cases for each platform, and support resources.
